Rick comes from a drafting and architecture background, having studied and graduated with an Honours Diploma in Architecture from Northern Tech. After taking Civil Engineering at Ryerson he worked in various capacities of our industry for several years doing design and construction of residential and retail projects. Rick is a skilled carpenter and has expert knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems.

This is Rick's twelfth year at Binns; he is a valuable asset to the "Binns Design Team", bringing with him good theory and practical knowledge of construction. He has excellent communication skills, an abundance of enthusiasm and a desire to stay current by continually upgrading and developing his expertise. In 2009 Rick attended the SieMatic Academy in Germany where he did intensive training in kitchen planning and design, receiving his "SieMatic-Akademie Diplom".

The kitchen and bathroom courses that Rick has completed have taught Rick advanced design and presentations skills, as well as keeping him current on the industries latest design ideas and trends.

Rick has participated in many design competitions, winning four first place awards, he has been featured in many major Canadian and U.S. magazines. Rick has received the following awards listed on the right.
